Hello everyone!
Our
Annual Ira & Emma Packer Family Celebration is quickly
approaching! We are so excited to see everyone up at Shady this year!
Mark your calendars for July 5, 2014! We will have breakfast at 8:30am,
followed by a short program, and ICECREAM at 1pm! An email will follow
with sign-ups for help with breakfast. We are looking for some help
with our flag ceremony! Anyone interested in taking charge and making
sure we have some scouts in uniform, please let me know! We will also
be meeting around the big campfire in the main area for s'mores on
Friday night!
We planned a couple of Shady clean-up dates! We will be
meeting as a group on Sat., June 28 at 10am and Mon., June 30 at 7pm to
make sure Shady is ready for our celebration the following weekend! If
you cannot make it to one of these, please feel free to go on your own
time and help with raking leaves, cleaning Moose House, and any other
general clean-up.
We want to send out some big THANK YOU's to a few family
members that are always helping out and keeping Shady in tip-top
condition!
A huge thanks to Blaine for the new Shady sign! If
you haven't seen this...go check it out! It is amazing! Thanks again
to Blaine for building and installing this new sign!
Thank you to our hard-working, under-appreciated water guys, Wayne
and Wade! They go up every year and turn on and off the water for the
season,so we don't have to worry about it! Thanks guys!
Thank
you to all your family reps! They are so great to meet and help with
planning and organizing and carrying out our reunions every year!
A great big thanks to Melanie Leishman, our family treasurer! She
takes charge of our finances and dues and everything money related, and
the Shady scheduling year after year! Thanks Melanie!
I'm
sure there are many more people that I haven't included! Thank you to
everyone that helps with the upkeep and running of Shady Acres! What a
blessing for our family to have a place like Shady! Please use it!
A bit more family info:
We are still working on
getting a price quote for Packer Family Door Knockers. We are working
with Kenny Packer to find out how much they will cost. Hopefully, we
will have an estimate before our Shady celebration!
The hill coming in and out of Shady is wearing away more every
year. We want to call on any family member with any expertise in the
area to help us with ideas to preserve or improve the road. Please,
email or call me with any ideas that would help!
We are thinking about planning a 40 Cousins Party! We just
want some feedback on when, where, and who would come! Please email me
with any ideas or info!
Just a reminder about Shady dues! We are now set-up to accept payments on our family website!
Dues are:
Single family member $10
Couple $15
Small family $25
Established family $50
Extra contributions are welcomed!
