Shady Celebration

We are quickly approaching our celebration at Shady!  It is on Saturday,July 6!

We are planning a family breakfast and program, and of course, ICE CREAM!

I know there are certain families that provide specific things for breakfast, but I'm not exactly sure who and what.  Here is a little list of of what we need people to bring.  Please respond to this email and let me know what you're willing to bring.

Scones

Honey butter

Sausage

Bacon

Pancakes

Juice

Milk

Syrup

Butter
Salt & Pepper

Ketchup

We thought it would be fun to fill the soda cooler too. If you want to bring soda or blocked ice that would be great!

Each family is responsible for their own paper products and plastic utensils.

Shady Clean-up time!

Hi all!

Just a quick reminder that our Shady clean-up day is this Saturday, June 8!

Bring your shovels, clippers, chainsaws, rakes, gloves, etc.

My family was there last weekend, along with a couple others doing some clean-up. 

Thanks to the Darin Thompson family for cleaning up the Moose House!

Thanks to the Ron Packer Family for cutting down tall weeds in the main area!

We have a group camping overnight this Friday and doing a service project for us.  They will be fixing the fence around the volleyball area.  Thanks to Bart Bess!

Plan to arrive at Shady after 9am to give them time to clear out!

Here is a list a a few things we noticed that need to be worked on:

-one toilet in the girls side of the Moose House is missing a handle to flush

- the big branch that grows above the playground is getting lower, and needs to be removed with a chainsaw so none of the kids get hurt

- There are plenty of leaves that need to be raked and removed

- Bring a mop to clean the Moose House floors

- There's a large pile of branches and sticks by the flag pole in the main area that needs to be chopped and stacked for fire wood

- The main fire pit needs to be dug out

- We would like to move the 2 Lifetime picnic tables from the lawn area to the eating area and replace one of the older tables.  The older table can be broken down and removed from Shady.

- Please bring trucks to remove any junk and trash from family areas and main area.  Let's keep Shady nice!

- If any one wants to mow or weed whack the main area the week of the 4th, that would be awesome!

We also have a wish list for the future!  If you have any great ideas how to accomplish these, or know someone that could help with them, let me know!

- We are bringing up a couple more swings before the 4th! 

- We need to repair or replace the benches around the fire in the main area.

-  If someone could work on the hill coming into Shady, it needs some evening out.

A huge thanks to our faithful water guys!  Always taking care of that for us without many people knowing about their hard work!  We appreciate you Wayne and Wayde and anyone else that helps with that!

Welcome to our new family website!  We will post important updates about our reunions, Shady clean-up days, and family info.  There is also an awesome new way to pay dues online.  Just click the donate button!  We also have info about dues, how to pay, and reserving Shady. Be sure to pass it along to all your family members!

Shady Celebration

Shady Clean-up

Saturday, June 8 will be our Shady clean-up day!

Come and help get Shady ready for our 4th of July celebration.

Bring your gloves, rakes, chainsaws and garbage bags!  

We have some specific areas that need work:

-There are some fallen and low-hanging branches to be removed.

-Leaves need to be raked.

-The benches around the main firepit need fixing up and recovering or replacing.

-The fence around the volleyball area fixed. (Bart Bess Family)

-We'd love to have a pipe put under the road above the main area, so we don't have the run-off over the road every year.

-The Moose House needs cleaning.

-The picnic table by the grill needs to be broken down and removed so we can put our new tables there.

-Thank you to whoever planted the new trees in the main area!  We are a little worried that they will eventually grow over our grassy sitting area, so we would like them transplanted to an out of the way spot. 

- Window in the men's side of the Moose House fixed or replaced.

 If you can't make it that day, you are welcome to choose another time to help. Let us know if you can take on a particular project.  Any money spent on these projects can be applied to your family dues.
